Let me bring your vision to life and enhance your brand today!

I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, and blogger based in Madison, WI. It might seem strange that I get excited thinking about colors, typography and layout design, but my passion for all aspects of design has remained strong throughout my career.

As a kid growing up in the military doing your best work and being kind to others was something that was ingrained in me every step of the way.

Kid Joseph was always sketching in his notebook and dreaming of larger than life ideas. Drawing on my parents walls and scribbling doodles in class was a regular activity.

Once I got to college though I knew that creating shit was something that I was born to do. having an open mind and a drive to explore was necessary for me to find my way in the digital design realm.

Out of college I worked for UnitedHealth Group as a multimedia designer primarily crafting micro sites and assisting the marketing department in creating creative assets. From there I moved down to Madison where I now live and work as a User Interface and Graphic Designer at The Digital Ring Ad Agency.

Working as a freelancer though has always been the dream and allows me to help small businesses and personal brands realize their creative potential.

Logo design, print design, website design, environmental design, and even vehicle wraps - Working with me means that you get a creative partner that thinks outside the box and never stops working for you.

I’m excited to meet you and I look forward to bringing your vision to reality!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is it like working with a freelancer?

Finding the right freelancer for your design project is a bitch, there’s so many to choose from and you never really know what your going to get in the end - I know It’s a pain - but it shouldn’t have to be! That’s why I offer free design consultation so that I can evaluate the project and give you an accurate price and timeline before you commit to anything. If it’s not the right project for me I won’t take it, but Ill pass you onto a freelancer that I think fits your project better. If the project fits and we talk things over I put it in writing and send you the proposal so that we both are on the same page. Being honest and keeping an open line of communication during the whole process is something I take pride in. Then the design part begins! The pencil hits the paper as I handcraft your vision. I want you to be happy with the end result, so that means no cap on edits*. Once you are happy and have approved the designs I send you all the working and deliverable files both print and screen ready in an organized zip folder via Dropbox. A virtual invoice for the project is then sent to you via email payable by card within 7-14 days.

Are there any projects that you won't work on?

Just like a tattoo artist or any contractor, a consultation is recommended before starting work. I want to make sure that I am the right guy for the job - If i am not I will refer you to someone who is! Here are the services that I currently do not take on: ✖ Wedding Stationary ✖ Tattoo Designs

How much are your services?

I saw this analogy used at AdobeMax the other year and loved it so much I decided to use it here. "Pricing design services is like giving the price of a car. It all depends on the details. What kind of car do you want? Will you be leasing or owning? How many test drives would you like before you commit?" Just reach out to me and tell me a bit more about your project and I can give you an accurate quote. I even do free design consultations so everything is transparent and you don't feel pressured to hire me!

How do I stay on budget?

Communication is key through the entire design process. The more precise you can be about the vision of your project before design work has started means that there will be less revisions needed throughout the design phase. This means more money in your pocket! I take time to get to know my clients and many of them turn into lasting relationships. Getting to know you and your current struggles allows me to provide the most effective solution to those problems.
